time really does fly..

i recently went to a summer camp with my church at doublehead resort in town creek, alabama. this was a week i will never forget. not only did i enjoy the messy games with the shaving cream all over my face, but i also enjoyed getting to know more friends and getting even closer to the ones i already have. but the most important thing that happened to me at camp was that i grew in my relationship with Jesus Christ. we talked about how we have all access to God and we can come to Him whenever we want. this truly was a week i will always remember..

people always say that "time flies when you're having fun" and i agree with this statement entirely. camp went by and i just wanted to stay another week. maybe two more. that is kind of my point with this blog..we need to stop getting caught up in the fast pace that this world lives in. we need to take the time to slow down and enjoy each and every moment as it comes. some people say to think of your future. i believe that you can think about your future a little bit, but not get stuck in something that hasn't even happened yet. we need to take the time to enjoy the little things such as shaving cream fights, a close time with our friends, or maybe even a close moment with God. we need to take in these things and not let them pass us by as we worry about what we are going to wear, where we are going to go, and who we are going with.

so no matter what you are doing, make sure you enjoy every minute of it..dont worry about the unimportant things, but the memories that will last a lifetime. i promise that in the future it wont matter what shoes you wore, if you buy everything you own at abercrombie, or if you were popular. what will matter in the end are the memories you have and the people you made them with. dont let the time pass you by..

so go ahead..DANCE in the rain. SING in the shower. MAKE some memories.

the POWER of PRAYER

have you ever noticed that sometimes things can turn from good to bad and then good again? well, thats what happened to my day today. it started out ok when i went to work, but then things got out of hand with some of the kids..it was rough, but then i came home and took a nap, woke up, and then went over to kelseys house and had an amazing time! we made a wonderful music video to "sk8er boi"..it was a lot of fun and then we went to Best Buy and met a cool guy named nate. then we went out to eat. it was a blast and kelsey is always fun to hang out with. some things in life are just like that i guess. when things get hard you just have to hang in there and pray that things will get better. remember that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. it may sound cliche, but it is very true. there was a time after my hip surgery that i didnt think things could get any worse, but then i prayed and hoped and God turned things around. my hip is doing amazing today and i thank God for everything He has done in my life. hang in there guys..when the going gets rough..PRAY.
