Despite the massive snow storm outside, I am finding the warmth to be able to type out a blog. As I'm looking outside at the gorgeous snow falling lightly on the ground, I can't help but take a breath and feel God's glory. There are some things that just make you want to stop and appreciate everything that He has given you. Snow does that for me. Even the other day when I looked at the snow fall from inside my car, I saw one little snow flake stick on my window. As I got closer, I saw the amazing detail, craft, and unique design of this one tiny little snowflake. God spent so much time molding this one little snowflake to let us see a piece of the beauty He is capable of creating.Snow storms, hail storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. Storms come in all different kinds. No matter where you go in the world, some sort of storm occurs in that area. As a person who gets easily afraid by drastic changes in weather, I have searched for a place that is storm-free. However, I have yet to find such a place. But no matter what the storm, everyone in the area knows how to handle it. There are different safety tips to follow depending on the type of storm you encounter.
Just like these literal storms, we experience many different types of storms in our lives. Trials and tribulations of every kind. And there is no where to go in the world where you will not find trials. You can't run from them. If you run from one, you are soon to find another. The difference is that there is one solution to every storm in your life. And that is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the shelter that some people search for their entire lives.
As I enjoy this beautiful "snow storm" of about 1-2 inches, I continue to reflect on how the Lord has brought me through different storms in my life. No matter how big or small the storm is, He has NEVER left me.
"Praise You In This Storm"
Casting Crowns
I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again,
I say "Amen",and it's still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I amA
nd every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth!
Thank you, Father, for never giving up on me.
