well i havent blogged in a while but i figured i dont exactly have anything better to do right now. i guess you could say that i am in sort of a mid-winter slump. i guess it is a mixture of a bunch of things. the cold weather keeps us inside, where there is only so much to do..and then i am in desperate need of a good job, but i don't exactly know where to apply. not to mention that i have this little minor thing called "high school" that i have to deal with. freshman year is just getting your feet wet, but this is officially the real deal. i am competing for scholarships to try and get in the best school possible for me. and at the same time i am trying to mold what little time i have left into a social life. i am just very stressed out. i am also really trying to work on my money managing. i am sure that i speak for every teenager when i say that money doesnt grow on trees. although it sure would make life a whole lot easier. but that just wouldnt be much fun, would it?
i have to be honest in saying that everything always feels better when you have earned it. and some of the best memories i have with my friends are not elaborate and expensive times, but really just being with the people that you love and enjoying their company. for instance, the other night my friend and i were going to see a movie, but everything was sold out. so to make a long story short..we ended up just driving around town for a while and then going home and playing monopoly with her mom for a few hours. but we had an absolute blast! you see, sometimes we forget that what truly matters in life just isn't how much money you have and what you can buy with it. life is about being who God created you to be and living your life to the fullest. i keep coming back to the point that we need to take the time to see the small things in life. because i promise that in the years to come you will wish that you had enjoyed every moment of your life.
i also recommend the movie "the bucket list" to anyone who is interested in looking in to the lives of two men who decide to, literally, "live like they were dying." check it out. it is worth the money.
